Fragmented 2

Oil on Canvas
12" x 24"

Almost whole. Midway in the process of getting to know someone/people. Nearly fully formed impressions. The parts you understand coming together. Do we ever truly know anyone?

Watercolor on Canvas
12" x 24"

Layered personality. The different pieces that come together to make a person. At first seen as one cohesive form but further inspection reveals that there may be a lot more than one initially thought.

Mirrirré

Oil on Canvas
18" x 24"

Someone. Someplace. Sometime.
A moment lost, a past forgotten.
What might have been.

Zurichsee

Oil on Canvas
48" x 72"

Companionship. Summer holidays. Can we ever really be together?

Augmentia - part of Reverium - by Jaywant Bharat Bhalla - Oil on Canvas Painting

Augmentia

Oil on Canvas
48" x 72"

A state in which one is unable to differentiate between real/physical and virtual/digital due to prolonged exposure to augmented or virtual reality.

If it exists isn't it real?

Do we all have Augmentia?

Arrival/Departure - part of Reverium - by Jaywant Bharat Bhalla - Oil on Canvas Painting

Arrival/
Departure

Oil on Canvas
36" x 48"

Every arrival means a departure from somewhere. Every departure means an arrival somewhere. Arriving into the unknown or departing from what's over. A time of transition in my life. I was leaving behind the life I had know for years and had decided to move.

Taking Leave
also "cirq"

Oil on Canvas (WIP)
60" x 96"

Observing plutocracy. The circus like frivolity of it all. The meaninglessness of it. Society and mankind on the whole having taken leave of their senses. What's real? What are the limits?

Are you where you are? - part of Reverium - by Jaywant Bharat Bhalla - Oil on Canvas Painting

Are you where you are?

Oil on Canvas
48" x 36"

A number of my artworks focus on the impact of social media on society and human psyche. What remains and what transitions. Neither medium, real or virtual, holds the complete you anymore. Existence in a state of flux. A myriad of emotions felt at once.

Captured? - part of Reverium - by Jaywant Bharat Bhalla - Oil on Canvas Painting

Captured...

Oil on Canvas (WIP)
48' x 48"

How much of us is real and how much is virtual? How much of us has already transitioned? We all live in a duality now. Some of us are here and some of us have moved on. In this flux, this transition, how do we draw lines between what we do in the physical and what we do in the virtual.

Portraits of artists. Like a homage I guess. Hoping that these studies  help me tap into some of what went on in their minds.
